（中央社台北7日電）美國有線電視新聞網（CNN）報導，台灣高度警戒，嚴防「近乎完美」超級颱風尼伯特，預計颱風明天清晨登台。
報導說，尼伯特近中心最大風速每小時高達280公里，陣風風速可更高，目前強度增強到相當於2015年蘇迪勒超級強颱。蘇迪勒在台灣和中國大陸造成數10億美元損失，及至少36人喪命。
尼伯特將成台灣近6年來、也是2016年第一個最強大的超級強颱。在經過異常安靜的風暴季節後，這也是整個北半球第一個強颱。
太平洋西北至今經歷尚未出現命名風暴的最長週期，自2015年12月以來已有200天沒出現颱風。
